Blog 46 Mars Base Alpha was developed by Elon Musk

Target 2028 is somewhat ambitious, but we need to move forward. I support it. I worked on the Mars Project in the 1960s after Apollo. Werner Von Braun was targeting 1985 to land humans on Mars; however, Congress did not fund the plan and I went to study under Paul Dirac. A Nobel Prize winner in Physics, Dirac founded quantum mechanics, quantum electrodynamics and predicted anti-matter, which are just a few of his great advances. It was the greatest experience of my life. He was humble and brilliant. He liked to sail and would dive in the water from his Cal 46 motor sailor in the middle of winter with no wetsuit. It was hard for me to believe that one man could do so much for humanity as Professor Dirac had accomplished. Now I see another named Elon Musk. I hope to meet him someday. We need more people like Elon Musk.
This base could be established on Mars by 2028, according to Elon Musk. I for one believe it can.

Dirac developed the most general and correct theory of quantum mechanics and invented the relativistic equation for the electron known as the Dirac Equation. The discovery of anti-matter a few years after he predicted should have made him as famous as Einstein; however, Dirac did not see fame. The remarkable notion of an antiparticle to each fermion particle was like finding a whole new world, which stems from his equation. He was the first to develop quantum field theory, which underlies all theoretical work on sub-atomic or “elementary” particles today, work that is fundamental to our understanding of the forces of nature.
Figure 3 Paul Adrien Maurice Dirac, PhD photo taken after he won the Nobel Prize in physics. He also suggested we look for life in the upper atmosphere of Venus, as the temperature and pressure is such that primitive life forms might have evolved there.
Figure 4. The artificial gravity is created by centripetal force as the wheel-like structures rotate. This can create the gravity of Earth or Mars. Some form of artificial gravity will keep our astronauts healthy for the trip to Mars and beyond.
I would like to see artificial gravity in future spaceship designs. I am not critical of Elon’s plans. I am blown away. However, my view and that of Werner von Braun is that artificial gravity could be key to maintaining human strength. This design comes from 30th Century: Contact, which is book 3 in my 30th Century trilogy. In my series, this design is used by most civilizations going between the stars and planets. Mark Kingston Levin PhD author of 30th Century series book 2 30th Century: Revived, which was release on Amazon April 29, 2018.
Dr. Levin won the IRWIN for the Best Science Fiction Book of 2017 for the first book in the series, 30th Century: Escape. To read the first three chapters, see www.markkingstonlevin.com.
Dr. Levin was born and grew up in Vermont with many winters spent in Florida as a child. As a teenager he wrote poetry, served as a lifeguard and played football. He currently enjoys sailing, exploring underwater caves, snorkeling, writing science fiction and other pursuits. After working on the Apollo and Mars projects, he returned to school to study under Nobel Laureate Paul Dirac, obtaining his PhD in 2.5 years. Dr. Levin founded two companies and served the science policy apparatus in President Ford’s administration. He has been published over 44 times in scientific literature and was awarded over 32 US patents. The science fiction writer is now emerging with his first work, a trilogy titled 30th Century.
The first award-winning book, 30th Century: Escape, is currently available on Amazon both in its original erotic form BUY HERE and the new, toned-down General Audience Edition in both Kindle and in full-color print BUY PRINT HERE.
